Halo partners with renowned Flying Lizard Motorsports, while strengthening its BTCC presence

Halo by Orthene, the Motorsport-specific brake fluid designed exclusively to meet the highest demands of racing, have announced their partnership with the globally renowned U.S based Flying Lizard Motorsports, working as technical partners across the team’s multiple category assault for the 2024 season and beyond.

Developed by Orthene in the UK, a specialist brake fluid manufacturer since 1976, and who supply many other major brands, Halo P1 is the firm’s dedicated motorsport fluid, offering the most advanced racing brake fluid on the market, thanks to the purest formulation process offering a superior dry boiling point and unmatched incompressibility in the most extreme circumstances.

Thanks to its market leading performance, Flying Lizard looked to Halo P1 in a bid to find that competitive advantage over its rivals.

Darren Law, Team Principal of Flying Lizard Motorsport, commented, “A lot of people assume high-temperature brake fluid is the same, but of course through decades of racing, we know that’s not the case. When the team at Halo approached us to test P1, we had initial confidence due to Orthene’s reputation, but the performance we found with P1 when testing was truly impressive. Brake fade is of course a big factor, but so too is pedal feel and this is where Halo P1 has really scored in testing.”


In addition to the temperature levels this fluid can withstand, the other most notable factor is in the compressibility at high temperatures. This provides a much harder pedal for the driver. The soft or spongy feel is eliminated, and braking distance stays consistent with minimal fade which inspires confidence in the driver to keep pushing in extreme conditions.

Adoption of Halo P1 in U.S motorsport is not restricted to just the Flying Lizard team, with other major teams across series like NASCAR also making the switch. More high-profile domestic championship teams have also made the decision to partner with Halo P1, such as the renowned independent PowerMaxed BTCC team in the UK.
